Quick Renewal Facts

<li>Your qualification is valid for 5 years (from exam date)</li>
<li>You can renew as many times as you want</li>
<li>Renew either by collecting 30 Passive House Institute (PHI) credit points or by documenting your PH project</li>
<li>Refresh your knowledge by retaking our <a href="https://coaction.org.uk/courses/passivhaus-for-contractors">Contractor course</a> (without exam) plus any related Coaction courses (see below) to bank credit points</li>
<li>You cannot renew your qualification by re-sitting the tradesperson exam.</li>
<li>All renewal applications go through the <a href="https://passivehouse.com/en/training/certificates/">Passive House Institute (PHI)</a></li>
<li>The <a href="https://passivehouse.com/media/training/Fee_Schedule_HW_20250101.pdf%5D">PHI renewal application fee</a> is 500 EUR paid directly to the Passive House Institute</li>

Tradesperson Renewal Routes:
There are two routes to renewing your qualification:
1. Renewal via Project Documentation
Renewal via project documentation means working on and completing a Passivhaus project in the last 5 years and documenting the process. If you choose this option, you will need to liaise directly with the PHI.

2. Renewal with Passivhaus Institut (PHI) Credit Points
If renewing through the PHI credit points route, then you will need to collect 30 PHI credit points through accredited refresher or further training courses and/ or attending CPD events. You cannot just re-take your exam. This encourages further self-development and learning and ensures your skills remain relevant and fresh.
Each accredited training course/ event will have a code - you must make a note of the training/ event details and code and date you attended (we recommended keeping a running excel spreadsheet). Once you have collected 30 PHI renewal credit points, you then apply to the Passive House Institute (PHI), pay them a <a href="https://passivehouse.com/media/training/Fee_Schedule_HW_20250101.pdf%5D">renewal fee.</a> Once approved, your certification is renewed for a further 5 years.
