Architect, Passivhaus Designer and Senior Building Performance Specialist at John Gilbert Architects
Eric Parks is an Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer who has specialised in the field of ecological design and sustainable construction for over two decades. Eric gained early valuable experience in ecological design and construction working at CMPBS in Austin, Texas, closely followed by working for pioneering UK practices Simmonds Mills: Architects, Builders and Eco Arc before setting up his own architecture practice and sustainable building consultancy in 2008. Following years of focus on Passivhaus, Eric co-founded Buckrose Ecological Architects in 2017. A move to Scotland in 2020 saw him return to sole practice until 2023, when Eric joined John Gilbert Architects. There he is a Senior Building Performance Specialist and Passivhaus Consultant helping design teams deliver Passivhaus schools across Scotland.
One of the UK’s earliest Certified Passivhaus Designers Eric has contributed to and delivered Passivhaus and Retrofit training since 2011. In working with Coaction, he enjoys using his extensive experience of Passivhaus design & delivery and continual learning through practice to help empower others to create low-energy new-build and retrofitted dwellings and buildings.
